Apr 4, Saturday, Zhangjiajie to Guiyang

Today was an air travel day from Zhangjiajie to Changsha to Guiyang.  They couldn’t check our luggage all the way through to our destination (different airlines involved for the two legs) so in Changsha we had to pick up our luggage, go to a ticket counter to check in, then go back through security.  We had lunch in the airport at a nice restaurant with some western food.  We both had a sandwich.   There were some nice views of Mt. Tianmen from the tarmac.

No jet bridges to the planes.  Instead we walked out of the nifty large gates to a bus that took us to the plane.

We again were able to get a few pictures of China from the air.  There was even minimal haze for a change.

Our flight was an hour+ delayed out of Changsha but still made it fine to Guiyang where we were met by Johnnie and Mr. Wu and taken to our hotel.
We went down to the main dining room for dinner and it looked like they had a buffet set up.  However, when we walked up they escorted us to another restaurant two flights up.  We were the only two diners in the restaurant. Since no one spoke English we assume the restaurant was for Westerner’s or they thought we might spend big.  We disappointed them with settling for sharing a plate of fried rice.  Then it was early to bed so Mary could rest as the suspected cold turned into the real thing.
