Today we took a bus up to Bao Feng Lake, a beautiful
mountain lake. At the bus station there
was a large waterfall that flowed off of the lake.
There were a couple small platform structures (didn't really look like boats) on the lake. When our boat went by a performer would come out and sing to us. Sort of an interested side attraction to the natural beauty of the place.

After lunch Mary went back to the hotel for nap (possible cold coming on) and Paul went to the Yellow Dragon Cave. The grounds at the cave included an unusual building with a grass covered roof and lots of waterwheels along the stream.
with 3000 steps and some pretty awesomely large rooms.

The group (Paul and Gabby) then picked up Mary and we went back into the park for a train ride through another beautiful valley, the 10-Mile Gallery (actually 3 English miles long, since the li unit of measure, known as a Chinese Mile, is about 3 tenths of an English mile).
While at the lake we took a boat ride around
the entire lake. Again, the rock
formations and mountains were just fantastic and the lake area was calm and
serene.

We
got back to the hotel just in time as shortly after we got back we had another
downpour.
This evening was the first day/evening that the hotel had
dry floors. We have decided that instead
of using a damp mop to clean the stone floors that they just hose them
down…then they stay WET all day.
